WHO WE WORK WITH

Faculty

Faculty, staff, researchers, and clinicians are working in partnership with REV on collaborative community-engaged research, community impact projects, or community-engaged teaching courses through the REV Center.

Staff and stakeholders from regional communities work closely with EOU faculty and students to provide local knowledge and deeper understanding into the issues, guaranteeing projects are not only innovative, but also suitable to the community.

The Rural Engagement & Vitality Center is building a network of affiliated faculty and researchers to support, connect, and extend the public-facing work in which faculty are engaged. We support teams and networks of faculty, other researchers, students and staff at Eastern Oregon University working together and with external partners to confront the challenges facing our communities.

The benefits to being a faculty member working with REV includes:

“I get to work with the REV to get students in the field and solving the salient rural public problems of the 21st century.”
— Dr. Daniel Costie, EOU Professor of Public Administration & Policy

///

“Being an advocate for activities, education and recreation in wild places, it is a privilege to introduce young students to the outdoor classroom and experience.”
— James Stolen, Senior Instructor II English & Writing

///

“An outdoor classroom like Cottonwood is the perfect way to introduce the students to the wonders of the natural world.”
— Joe Corsini, EOU Professor of Biology

///

“Learning outdoors enables students to have a better understanding of the interconnected-ness of our world and opens their eyes to the wonders of nature.”
— Michael Hatch, EOU Director of Outdoor Adventure Program
