STUDENT MENTOR FOR COTTONWOOD CROSSING SUMMER INSTITUTE

REV is hiring four student mentors will serve as a teaching assistants to an EOU professor during a week-long intensive study with high school students in the field of either Geology, Neuroscience, Writing, or Natural Resources in the form of riparian restoration.

to support city and land use planning for the City of Joseph. REV was awarded funding by the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development (DLCD) to support small cities with planning and capacity needs. Students will work closely with EOU faculty, consultants, and city staff to develop planning documents, policy analysis, and proposed revisions to Joseph’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan. This work will be instrumental in preparing Joseph for future growth and reduce barriers to housing.

Student mentors must be in good academic standing and enrolled in 6-9 credit hours, have the ability to spend large sections of time outdoors, camping/fishing/hiking experience.

Pay: $750 stipend 
Time commitment is one full week camping overnight at Cottonwood Canyon State Park, June 16-21

SEASONAL YOUTH CREW LEAD

Wallowa Resources (WR) is seeking candidates who enjoy working in the outdoors and want to contribute to our mission of inspiring environmental stewardship through transformative learning experiences in nature. The Youth Leadership Crew Lead, is responsible for assisting Wallowa Mountain Institute, the youth education arm of Wallowa Resources, with implementation of the Summer Stewardship Youth Crew. The Youth Leadership Crew Lead will help oversee our High School Summer Stewardship Youth Corp, leading a crew of 15-18-year-olds from Wallowa County through an intensive 8.5-week field program surveying all topics in natural resource management and environmental stewardship.

Pay: $19.50-21.50/hr, seasonal, full-time, 36 hours/wk

YOUTH EDUCATION INTERNSHIP

Wallowa Resources is offering a Youth Education Internship through its Wallowa Mountain Institute (WMI). The primary responsibilities of this intern will be to assist in teaching and facilitating WMI summer stewardship education programs. This will include helping to prepare and execute our summer WREN programs which include both overnight camping and day programs. Our programs aim to teach youth about the natural and cultural history of Wallowa County through guided place-based lessons, hikes, games, art, and play.

Pay: $18-20/hr, seasonal, housing may be available if needed
