A PROJECT LED THROUGH THE REV

Greater Eastern Regional Innovation Hub

""

Innovative solutions happen when people work together.

The Rural Engagement and Vitality Center has a deeply rooted awareness of rural community interests and strives to support vibrant and prosperous rural communities. Designation as the Regional Innovation Hub for eastern Oregon would expand and enhance REV’s current role in building a culture of innovation across eastern Oregon.

The proposed innovation hub of northeast Oregon, centered in the REV, will seek to build the networks, alliances, and partnerships needed to cultivate innovation and assist local entrepreneurs and companies in Baker, Union, and Wallowa counties wishing to adopt technology and create jobs. This hub will nurture and incentivize the coordination of existing resources in this effort with a specific focus on important industries in northeast Oregon including, but not limited to, agriculture, food and beverage, forestry and wood products, and manufacturing.

Regional Innovation Hubs are a key strategy in Business Oregon’s 10-Year Innovation Plan to advance innovation in Oregon and create more inclusive economic opportunities. Hubs build and advance regional innovation ecosystems, as well as provide local small businesses that are actively, or planning on incorporating new technology into their business with access to technical assistance, capital, networking, mentorship, and talent.
